End for Dada?

Ah. Ganguly, ‘The Prince of Kolkata’ – ‘Dada’ as he is being called has not been picked up in the 14 member Rest of India team for the five day Zal Irani trophy match against Delhi to be played at Vadodara starting on September 24.The selection committee picked up the Little Master, The Wall and the Hyderabad wrist batsman in the Rest of India team. Thus the team has a strong middle order. The ‘Bengal Tiger’ has been dropped for the 2008-09 season openers. He has not been picked up in the ODI squad for the past one year or so. He captained ‘knight riders’ in the IPL tournament, where he failed to perform to his standards. He was selected only for the longer version of the game in the last 10-12 months. But now, the entire scenario is going against him. Dada, the most successful captain of India may very well be dropped for the home series against Aussies which is scheduled to start next month. This may be the beginning of the end of Dada's cricket era on field.
